The Hon. Oppah Muchinguri MP, Minister of Environment, Water and Climate, Zimbabwe
Please urge the Zimbabwean government not to permit the export of Xanda as a trophy.
Cecil the lion and his six-year-old son, Xanda, were shot and killed by trophy hunters in Zimbabwe just two years apart. Allowing hunters to take their “trophies” home vindicates their cruel and violent behavior.
Let's make sure Cecil and Xanda didn't die in vain by asking the Zimbabwean government not to permit the export of Xanda as a trophy. Issuing export permits for heads, hides, and even whole animals just proves to trophy hunters that they can continue to drive lions and other rare and iconic species to extinction.
