Urge the government to introduce a bill to ban cosmetic animal testing
In 2019, Bill S-214, The Cruelty-Free Cosmetics Act, died on the order paper, which sadly means that cosmetic animal testing is still legal in Canada. We need your help to urge the Canadian Government to introduce a new Government Bill to ban cosmetic animal testing and trade, as well as the manufacture, import and marketing of cosmetics tested on animals elsewhere in the world.
The Cruelty-Free Cosmetics Act would have made it illegal to test cosmetics products or ingredients on animals here in Canada, and also ban the sale of beauty products that have been newly tested on animals anywhere in the world, following the example already set by 42 countries, including the European Union, Australia, Israel, India, Mexico, Taiwan and New Zealand.
The good news is, the Liberal government has made a commitment to pass legislation banning cosmetic animal testing. But we need your help to get it introduced and passed into law.
Urge the Canadian Government to follow through on its mandate and pass legislation that will effectively ban cosmetic animal testing and trade.
It’s Canada’s turn to #BeCrueltyFree.
