Ask the Senate to end live exports of horses before it’s too late!
While the Canadian Senate delays the progress of Bill C-355, which would end the live export of horses for slaughter by air, horses continue to suffer and die because of this industry.
Just recently, shocking information obtained from the Japanese government revealed that 21 horses shipped from Canada to Japan for slaughter died during or directly following transports between May 2023 and June 2024. The records detail horrendous animal suffering related to these shipments, including horses dying of severe dehydration and pneumonia, miscarriages and physical compression after collapsing in their crates.
Bill C-355 has already passed the House of Commons and is now in the hands of the Senate. Please help ensure that live exports of horses for slaughter stops in Canada by asking members of the Senate to urgently pass Bill C-355.
