Urge Indonesia’s president to end the dog and cat meat trades
In Indonesia, every month tens of thousands of dogs—along with many cats—are brutally slaughtered, butchered and sold for meat. Many are stolen family pets and illegally trafficked dogs. They are crammed into cages and sacks so tightly they can barely move, their mouths bound shut so they can hardly breathe. They’re taken on long journeys to supply markets, slaughterhouses and restaurants where they watch as others are brutally killed in filthy slaughterhouses while they wait their turn. This brutality persists despite the national government declaring that dogs are not considered food and pledging action to end the trade.
In partnership with
The new President, Prabowo Subianto, has taken office, and it’s imperative that he end these horrifically cruel and dangerous trades for good by passing a presidential regulation. Please make your voice heard in calling on President Prabowo Subianto to make history by making Indonesia dog and cat meat-free.
