Urge Mexican legislators to protect animals in Mexico’s Constitution
Millions of dogs and cats roam the streets of most cities throughout Mexico, where cruelty, abandonment and neglect are all too common. And as a major farm animal producer, Mexico faces significant animal welfare challenges ranging from breeding to transportation, housing and slaughter. Furthermore, as one of the most biodiverse countries, Mexico is also a place where wildlife trafficking is prevalent.
Mexico’s president recently proposed an amendment to enshrine animal protection in the federal constitution. This is a unique opportunity to make Mexico a world leader in animal welfare as well as to fight animal cruelty and abuse.
Please urge Mexican leaders to approve the amendment bill to protect animals and set an example for the world!
