Speak out against the cruel dog and cat meat trade
Much of the world sees dogs as their trusted companions, but in some parts, they suffer terribly as victims of the trade in dog meat for human consumption. Dogs used for this industry are mostly stolen pets and they endure immense suffering before being slaughtered. The dog meat trade is not only cruel, but is also linked to the spread of rabies and other diseases. Cats, taken from the streets or stolen pets, are also victims of this cruel trade.
HSI is working with local organizations across Asia. We shut down farms, assist farmers as they transition to more humane livelihoods, support our local partners in intercepting dog and cat meat traders’ trucks, fund the care of confiscated and rescued animals and support efforts to change and enforce better laws.
Take the pledge to fight the cruel dog and cat meat trade.

I believe that dogs and cats shouldn't suffer and die for the trade in their meat. I support an end to the dog and cat meat trade, and I urge the governments of all countries where the trade in dog and cat meat exists to work diligently and quickly toward eradicating this cruel and unnecessary practice.
