Urge the Conservative Party to fast-track the Cruelty-Free Cosmetics Act
Canada’s Cruelty-Free Cosmetics Act cleared the Senate last June 2018 without opposition but hasn’t even made it to first reading in the House of Commons. With Parliament recessing in June, we have only a few short months to make this bill law.
The Cruelty-Free Cosmetics Act would make it illegal to test cosmetics products or ingredients on animals here in Canada, and also ban the sale of beauty products that have been newly tested on animals anywhere in the world. It follows the example already set by 39 countries, including the European Union, Israel, India, Taiwan and New Zealand.
