End dogfighting worldwide

Dogs caught up in dogfighting are forced to fight and suffer from horrific injuries. Most spend their entire lives outdoors, bound by heavy chains and tethered close together to encourage fighting. They’re only freed for breeding, fighting, conditioning for fighting or to be sold for fighting. Others live in total darkness in filthy cages, wet with waste, with only enough room to stand up and turn around.

The dogs never win in this life. But you have the chance to speak out against this cruelty.

HSI works to ensure there is no safe haven for dogfighters worldwide by supporting legislation to criminalize and sufficiently penalize dogfighting. We work to strengthen enforcement by providing free training on investigating and prosecuting illegal animal cruelty and fighting and by providing guidance and intelligence on active dogfighters to law enforcement. We also rescue dogs and support and train local animal groups in building successful government partnerships to care for and rehabilitate animals rescued from dogfighting operations.
