Help protect giraffes from extinction!

Wild giraffe populations are currently enduring what experts have dubbed a “silent extinction” as their rapid decline has received relatively little international attention. These majestic animals face a myriad of threats--poaching, habitat loss, and civil unrest--and demand for their parts is pushing them further toward the brink of extinction.

Listing the giraffe on Appendix II of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) will provide the first and only international protections for giraffes against the threat of extinction, and will help ensure giraffes continue to grace the savannas of Africa for generations to come.

Urge CITES country representatives to take immediate action by listing the giraffe on CITES Appendix II.
