Save lions from trophy hunting in Zimbabwe!
The killing of Cecil the lion by a trophy hunter in 2015 sparked global outrage. Unfortunately, lions in Zimbabwe continue to be slaughtered by trophy hunters for their perverse head-hunting hobby to collect trophies.
There are concerns that Cecil’s old pride and offspring could be next. Locals worry that Humba and Netsai, two male lions dubbed as “Cecil’s heirs,” could be sitting targets of foreign trophy hunters any day.
HSI is working to end trophy hunting, but we need your help to apply pressure on governments. As long as governments, such as the US and the EU, continue to rubber stamp the applications of trophy hunters to import their gruesome trophy memento, lions in Zimbabwe remain in danger.
